Famous for its charming character and cobbled streets, this vibrant area has two shopping piazzas, a host of excellent restaurants, plenty of outdoor cafes, interesting art galleries and antique shops. De Waterkant is in walking distance of the city centre and a five-minute drive to the V&A Waterfront. De Waterkant is well placed for those attending matches at Cape Town Stadium which is a 10-minute walk away.

Townhouse 46 is a spacious (183sqm) architecturally renovated house on two levels backing on to the slopes of Signal Hill and the historical Bo-Kaap area. On the ground floor the open plan living area opens to a patio and lap pool with roof-top views across Cape Town harbour and the city. A twin bedroom and bathroom are also on this level. On the upper level, the master bedroom and bathroom have views from two balconies over Table Mountain and Table Bay.

Entering the house from the street level a double bedroom opens to your left, off a wide airy corridor that runs through to the open plan living area and pool deck. The bedroom, which is well designed with twin beds, elegant fitted wardrobes and a ceiling fan, has a separate bathroom containing a shower, toilet and basin.

Between the bedroom and the living area is an internal glass courtyard which lights up the corridor. In the corridor is a small utility cupboard in which are installed the washing machine and tumble drier.

Glass walls wrap around the comfortably furnished living area in which a leather sofa and armchairs nestle around a stylish coffee table. You can light the modern wood-burning fireplace on cooler evenings while you watch your favourite programmes, on the satellite TV or films on the dvd player.

Light wood floors extend throughout sitting area and open-plan dining space. The kitchen is elegantly appointed and overlooks the glass walled courtyard. A polished wooden dining table has seating for six. To the rear of the dining area, the stylish and fully equipped open-plan kitchen includes a fitted oven and hob, fridge freezer, microwave and dishwasher. It is fully equipped for self-catering.

The living space opens onto the outdoor entertainment area with the lap pool and a large wooden patio table with cushioned benches. The deck, protected by a canvas balustrade, overlooks the roof terraces of nearby homes, the city and mountain beyond. This is an ideal place to relax and entertain while you enjoy the view of the Harbour.

In the centre of the Townhouse an open stairway rises to the upper level where the master bedroom and more patio areas are found. Throughout this inspiring villa the architect has developed features that make the most of the surrounding views.

The master bedroom upstairs has sliding doors leading out to a balcony which overlooks the pool deck and has outstanding views of Table Mountain, the city and bay. There is a recliner chair inside and a circular patio table and two chairs on this private balcony.

The bedroom is large and airy with many interesting window features bringing in light. Beautifully fitted wooden wardrobes on either side of a large mirror match the elegant wood of the stylish bed which is set in the middle of this spacious room. A workspace in the same wood, fits neatly behind the bed-head.

Beyond this is an open glassed-in walkway taking you to the elegant en-suite bathroom which has a bath, spa shower and twin basins in a vanity unit. There is a separate toilet and bidet. The walkway then leads out to the master bedroom’s second roof deck patio which is equipped with two sun-loungers for sunbathing while looking up at Table Mountain to the left and the slopes of Lion’s Head.

Housekeeping service provided daily all year round excluding Public Holidays.                                There is a security system and a small safe for valuables. 

Parking is on the street or in the nearby shopping mall.

We recommend this Townhouse for visitors to the World Cup matches, friends on holiday and business people attending conferences at the CTICC.

We caution families with young children due to the open balconies and low roof parapets.
